The thesis is prepared individually and constitutes an independent scientific and systematic approach and analysis of a topic, is based on available technology and existing literature and utilises the knowledge and skills acquired during the studies.<\/span><\/p>\n

The thesis is submitted and graded at the earliest in the third semester for full-time students and in the sixth semester for part-time students.<\/span><\/p>\n

The thesis must be written either (a) in Greek, including an extended abstract in English or (b) in English, including an extended abstract in Greek.<\/span><\/p>\n

SUBMISSION<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the beginning of each academic year, indicative thesis topics are posted on the Department's website, with a short description, which have been proposed by the faculty members of the MSc. Faculty members of the Department should propose at least 3 indicative topics. Each lecturer may propose up to 5 indicative topics each year.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the second half of October, students submit their topic statements to the Department's Secretariat, after having consulted with their supervisor.<\/span><\/p>\n

THESIS SUPERVISION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students working on a thesis should be in contact with the supervisor at regular intervals during the period of the thesis.<\/span><\/p>\n

For this purpose, every semester there will be predetermined hours of guidance, supervision and support of students by the lecturers of the MSc.<\/span><\/p>\n

ASSESSMENT - EXAMINATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

The grade of the thesis is the average of the grades of the three examiners. The examination is successful if the final grade is above or equal to six (6) and if the grades of at least two examiners are above or equal to five (5).<\/span><\/p>\n

After the successful public support of the thesis, the student is required to deposit the thesis in electronic form in the Institutional Repository of the University Library following the technical instructions provided by the the Library's website<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
